What’s covered under historic property insurance?
In the event of loss or damage, one policy works exclusively to restore your historic, commercial building to its former grandeur—our PastForward® policy. It includes groundbreaking historic replacement cost coverage and some of the most comprehensive valuations in the industry…everything from the cost of replacing a hand-carved door to hiring an expert able to document your rebuilding.
Our Program offers insurance coverage to qualified properties that are:
- Listed on the National Register of Historic Places or a state or local register.
- Contributing building in a historic district.
- The building was built before 1950 and has the same coverage needs as listed designated historic properties.
- Nationwide except Hawaii.
Qualifying industries in the past have included:

- Hotels or Inns
- City or Social Clubs
- Real Estate and Retail Property
- Restaurants
- Theaters

What’s needed for submissions?
Depending on the line of business, ACORD applications and supplemental applications are required. Please contact us for supplementals. Other useful information:
- Statement of Values (SOV) spreadsheet
- Loss runs
- Updates (HVAC, Plumbing, Roof and Electrical)
- Photographs and web address that shows structures, if applicable
- Replacement Cost Appraisal
- Copies of Declaration pages from current policies
- Contact us form at the bottom of the page
How can you become appointed?
Thank you for your interest in MDP Programs. All of our programs have the capacity to work on eligible business nationwide through retail agency relationships. MDP Programs is licensed in Maryland. Maury Donnelly & Parr, Inc, is the licensed insurance producer for our programs. Maury Donnelly & Parr, Inc. is licensed in all states. In addition to a signed Brokerage Agreement, you will need to share a W-9 from your agency.
